Fast-growing environmental challenges and climate change are imposing additional stress on the environment, and the livelihoods that depend on it. BVO has been implementing climate change, environmental protection, and livelihood programs in the country. BVO strives to find solutions for Somaliland’s environmental challenges by planting indigenous tree species to serve as erosion controls, developing greenhouse enclosures for the nursery to protect the seedlings, advocating the use of efficient energy stoves, provision of knowledge and skills on climate-resilience, sustainable land and water management and natural resource conservation, enhance food security by promoting sustainable farming practices and Improving livelihoods by promoting renewable energy and green infrastructure.
